Blue Strata Insights has formed an active partnership with Hooded Crow Pictures Ltd.

Based in Bristol, UK, Hooded Crow Pictures is run by Steve Nicholls and Victoria Coules, both longstanding and experienced film makers in the field of science and natural history documentary. They are proactive members of the wildlife film making community, and count among previous clients BBC, National Geographic, Terra Mater Factual Studios, Animal Planet and ORF Austria.

Steve is an award winning producer and director of over twenty years experience. He was a producer and series producer with the BBC’s Natural History Unit before becoming freelance to pursue film making in the independent sector. He holds a PhD in entomology from University of Bristol and is currently the Vice Chair of the Avon Wildlife Trust. He wrote Paradise Found, a study of the environmental history of North America, published by the prestigious University of Chicago Press.

Victoria is a writer and artist, highly experienced in script writing as well as developing and initiating new projects. With a first degree in engineering, she worked in the defence industry and then taught mathematics to Advanced level, before moving into scriptwriting for specialist factual programs. She is a published author in local history and popular science, and holds a MA in Art, Media and Design.

In addition, Steve continues his personal interests in writing and stills photography, and Victoria her art practice and writing.
